Compared to the small molecule Vinyltrimethoxysilane (CG-171), the ethenyl silane oligomers obtained after deep hydrolysis have a higher ethenyl content, higher flash point, and lower VOC, making them more suitable as thickening agents for inorganic materials such as fillers, glass, and metal. Organic compounds can bond with silicon vinyl groups and increase adhesion to inorganic surfaces. Reactive silicon alcohol groups from hydrolysis of silicon methoxy groups can also bond with hydroxyl groups on inorganic surfaces. For instance, peroxide radicals with an electron-donating system can work as a decent thickening and crosslinking agent. This is applied in the fillers and peroxide crosslinked system plastics fields. When producing mineral-filled crosslinked polyolefin cable materials, hydrophobic EPDM and EVA promote bonding and are suitable for creating halogen-free, non-toxic, and eco-friendly flame retardant cable materials, particularly when manufacturing high filling cable materials. |
